The National Health Authority (NHA) is developing a national policy for Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare, aiming to provide a roadmap for its comprehensive application. This initiative was announced by NHA CEO Dr. Sunil Kumar Barnwal at a 'Chintan Shivir' in Pune. He highlighted that emerging technologies like AI are crucial for addressing significant health challenges.
Dr. Barnwal also praised the success of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (ABPMJAY) in alleviating financial stress for citizens. He noted that data-driven transparency and AI will be instrumental in the next phase of India's healthcare transformation, building on the scheme's seven-year journey.
