IIL has communicated with the Australian health authorities, providing details of the incident and requesting a revision of their advisory. They emphasize that healthcare professionals should procure the vaccine through authorized channels to ensure authenticity.
IIL, a subsidiary of the National Dairy Development Board, was established to ensure the affordability of vaccines, including rabies vaccines, within India. The company has a significant global reach, exporting to over 40 countries and having sold approximately 210 million doses in the past 25 years.
