India conducts more than 18,000 solid organ transplants each year, yet its organ donation rate remains critically low at 0.85 per million population. This figure contrasts sharply with developed countries and leaves a substantial gap between the supply of organs and the desperate need, exceeding 125,000 kidneys alone.
