Doctors in India highlight that dementia extends beyond Alzheimer's disease, encompassing vascular and mixed dementia types. Addressing India's growing dementia burden, Christ (Deemed to be University) has initiated a significant five-year academic partnership with the World Headache Society (WHS).
This collaboration will introduce the first-of-its-kind structured specialization track in dementia studies within a Master's programme in neuropsychology. This specialized track is slated to commence from the second year of the Master's program for the 2026-27 academic batch.
The new programme is designed to offer comprehensive learning through clinical exposure, guest lectures, and supervised training. It will also facilitate joint research, academic supervision, and international publications, enhancing the study of dementia in India.
