27 Feb
Summary
- New block significantly increases patient capacity at IHBAS.
- Specialized OPDs for neurosurgery, psychology, and more added.
- OPD area nearly doubles, easing wait times for patients.

The Delhi government-run Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences (IHBAS) has launched a new block aimed at significantly enhancing its outpatient department (OPD) services. Established in 1994, the institute currently sees approximately 2,500 patients daily, drawing individuals from Delhi and surrounding northern states for neurology and mental health care.
The newly inaugurated block features multiple specialized OPDs, including neurosurgery, neurology, psychology, and geriatric mental health services. It also incorporates a rehabilitation wing and expanded waiting halls, addressing the severe space constraints of the previous facility, which was built nearly three decades ago.
