Hyderabad Launches Unified Portal for Surrogacy & IVF
7 Apr
Summary
- A new online portal integrates surrogacy, ART, and PCPNDT registrations.
- The portal aims to enhance transparency and track regulatory oversight.
- It was launched following a surrogacy and baby-selling racket in 2025.

Hyderabad's health department launched a comprehensive online portal on Tuesday, integrating services for surrogacy, assisted reproductive technology (ART/IVF), and pre-conception and pre-natal diagnostic techniques (PCPNDT). This move aims to enhance transparency and streamline the registration and licensing processes for these critical healthcare services.
The initiative was prompted by a surrogacy and baby-selling racket exposed at a Hyderabad fertility center in July 2025. Previously, couples faced lengthy and complex procedures involving multiple government offices. The new portal is designed as a one-stop solution, allowing online documentation submission and reducing the need for in-person visits.
Healthcare facilities seeking licenses for surrogacy and ART will also benefit from online applications and scheduled inspections. Digitalization extends to PCPNDT inspections, with integrated checklists, reporting, and automated notifications for violations, fostering greater accountability.
Additionally, a separate Clinical Establishments Act (CEA) portal was launched for the online licensing of hospitals and other health facilities. This will consolidate registration processes, moving them online from district medical and health officer offices.
