The Marri Chenna Reddy Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (MCR TIMS) in Sanathnagar, Hyderabad, is scheduled for inauguration on Monday, August 17, 2026. This new facility represents the biggest tertiary-care government hospital built in Telangana since its formation in 2014.
Costing Rs. 1,126 crore, the hospital spans 53.30 acres and features 1,082 beds, including 300 ICU beds, 400 general beds, and 88 emergency beds. It is designed as a Centre of Excellence for cardiac, renal, transplant, and trauma sciences.
Construction commenced on February 8, 2023, with significant progress achieved by December 7, 2023. The hospital will offer advanced medical services across 28 departments, with plans for nine additional specialities.
The government has sanctioned 2,360 posts to staff the facility, and all 17 necessary licenses have been secured. MCR TIMS aims to enhance public healthcare and also serve as a medical tourism destination.
