Confusing Signs Lead to Costly Parking Fines at Hospital
2 Feb
Summary
- Conflicting signs in hospital car park result in £100 fines.
- Disabled bays and blood test parking zones create confusion.
- Hospital trust apologizes for signage errors and confusion.

Confusing signage at Oxford's Churchill Hospital has led to motorists receiving £100 fines. Parking Eye, responsible for car park four, recently introduced changes, including new bays for disabled users, which have caused significant confusion.
Regular patient Terry Nicholls reported that conflicting signs, such as "blue badge holders only" next to "blood test parking only," have resulted in patients being fined. His wife, Glenice, noted widespread confusion among other visitors.
The Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUH) has apologized for the mix-up and stated they are investigating how the incorrect "blood test parking" sign appeared and aim to remove it. They are also considering designated bays for blood test patients.
