Hospice Beds Saved by Anonymous Donor

The Arthur Rank Hospice in Cambridge has secured funding to keep nine vital beds open for at least another year, until April 2027. This crucial development comes after the Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust announced it would cut £800,000 worth of funding for these beds last autumn.

Anne-Marie Hoare, whose son Marley died at the hospice in 2018 after a battle with a rare cancer, expressed her relief. Marley spent his final five days at the facility. The hospice's successful fundraising, bolstered by a substantial, anonymous donation, ensures that these critical care beds will continue to serve the community.
