- Initial symptoms included persistent cough, fever, and night sweats.
- Modern treatments offer an 84% survival rate for stage four cases.

Lindsey Walker's life took a drastic turn in the spring of 2018 when a persistent cough evolved into severe breathing difficulties, leading to a devastating diagnosis. At 27 years old, she was found to have stage four Hodgkin's lymphoma, a rare cancer affecting white blood cells, with a mass significantly impacting her organs.
Initially dismissing her symptoms as a lingering cold while running her own PR company, Walker's condition worsened. By June, she experienced extreme breathing distress and was rushed to the hospital, where the aggressive cancer was identified. Hodgkin's lymphoma, if untreated, is fatal within two to three years.
Walker's treatment involved 12 rounds of chemotherapy over six months. Despite the arduous side effects, including hair loss and a blood clot, the treatment proved highly effective. By September 2018, her tumor had significantly shrunk, and by the end of her therapy, her cancer was undetectable.
Today, at 35, Walker is a survivor and an advocate, having written a book to support others. She emphasizes the advancements in cancer treatment, noting that while Hodgkin's lymphoma is rare, it is highly treatable, with an 84% five-year survival rate for stage four diagnoses.
