Heart Attack Survivor Reunited With Life-Saving Crew

Tony Wright, a resident of Fen Doddington near Chatteris, Cambridgeshire, has been reunited with the ambulance crew who saved his life following a severe heart attack. Wright initially felt unwell for several days, mistaking his symptoms for a chest infection before experiencing intense chest pain on October 30th.

During the medical emergency, Wright went into cardiac arrest. Paramedics Kelly Thompson and Zoe Dalby from the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust administered CPR and used a defibrillator to restart his heart. He recalled the frightening experience, noting that he was "gone for two minutes."

Additional support arrived from paramedics Chloe Taylor and Paul Barnett, and critical care paramedic Dan Read from Magpas Air Ambulance. Wright was then transported to the Royal Papworth Hospital in Cambridge, where he underwent a procedure to have a stent fitted.

Following his recovery, the former firefighter and police detective visited Huntingdon Ambulance Station to personally thank the East of England Ambulance Service and Magpas Air Ambulance teams involved in his critical care, expressing a new appreciation for emergency services.
