Haryana Trains 6.4K Health Workers for UN Goals

The Haryana Health Department is actively strengthening healthcare services across the state through comprehensive training programs. These initiatives are geared towards achieving the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goal-3 by 2030, which includes targets for reducing maternal and neonatal mortality ratios. Five dedicated skill labs are operational, covering districts such as Rohtak, Bhiwani, Panchkula, and Faridabad, ensuring widespread reach.
During the current year, the State Institute of Health and Family Welfare (SIHFW) in Panchkula trained 1,211 health workers, with an additional 5,220 trained at the district level. Various training modules are offered, including Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs on pediatric emergencies and maternal death prevention, as well as induction and mid-career programs for medical officers and nursing staff. Accident and Emergency Care Services training and Basic Life Support courses are also regularly conducted to enhance emergency response capabilities.
