Haryana's Health Drive: 99 Camps Screen Thousands for Diseases
7 Apr
Summary
- Combating health misinformation is as critical as fighting disease.
- 99 health camps screened over 4,251 individuals statewide.
- Focus on non-communicable diseases with early detection.

Combating health misinformation has become a critical public health challenge, stated Additional Chief Secretary Sumita Misra, emphasizing this year's global theme 'Together for Health. Stand with Science.' A single piece of false health information can undermine months of public health efforts.
The state organized 99 health camps, screening 4,251 individuals and prioritizing early detection of non-communicable diseases. Among those screened, 231 showed signs of hypertension and 165 of diabetes, with many also flagged for obesity and respiratory conditions.
Extensive awareness activities included 106 health talks and participation from 40 educational institutions. Yoga sessions and social media outreach complemented these efforts. The campaign also promoted the 'One Health Approach,' recognizing the link between human, animal, and environmental health.
Kaithal district led with 28 camps, screening 921 people and identifying 40 hypertension and 51 diabetes cases. The initiative reinforces Haryana's commitment to collective effort and science-guided public health progress.
