Haryana Flu Alert: Health Dept Intensifies Surveillance

The Haryana health department has significantly enhanced its surveillance for seasonal influenza throughout the state. Health and family welfare additional chief secretary, Dr. Sumita Misra, announced on Wednesday that all government and private health facilities must be prepared for prompt diagnosis and effective treatment of influenza cases.
Dr. Misra stated that the current influenza situation is being closely monitored and remains under control. She advised citizens against unnecessary panic regarding H1N1, also known as swine flu, clarifying that it is now managed as a component of seasonal influenza. The department has specifically urged individuals in vulnerable categories, such as those aged 65 and above, children under five, pregnant women, and people with chronic conditions like diabetes or heart disease, to take additional protective measures.
