The health ATM's convenience and accessibility have made it a game-changer for local residents. Domestic worker Rekha Devi, who was struggling with high blood sugar, praised the ATM's speed and efficiency, saying, "I got tested, talked to a doctor, and my report came straight to my phone. It was easy and fast." Even first-time users like e-rickshaw driver Shubham were impressed, noting the Hindi instructions and comprehensive checkups.
Health officials are closely monitoring the success of this pilot program. Principal medical officer Dr. Lokveer Singh revealed plans to expand the health ATM initiative to other cities like Sohna, Rewari, and Narnaul. "We have one health ATM in the city and others in the region. The government may set up more," he stated.
The health ATM's true impact lies in its ability to provide continuity of care. By creating a digital health record for each patient, the machine ensures their medical history is easily accessible, a rarity in India's fragmented healthcare system. As ASHA worker Sushma noted, "People who never went for regular check-ups are now using it weekly, and they are coming back for follow-ups because their records are easy to access."
