Guernsey Autism Services Under Review
5 Mar
Summary
- Autism services in Guernsey are being reviewed for improvement.
- A survey highlighted areas needing enhancement in autism support.
- New initiatives will focus on diagnosis and community inclusion.

The Autism Steering Group in Guernsey is undertaking a comprehensive review of existing autism services. This initiative follows a survey conducted in March 2025, which gathered vital feedback from 154 autistic individuals, their families, and carers. The feedback, analyzed thematically, revealed strengths in community and charity support, though some organizations appear under-resourced. While public awareness and social inclusion are perceived as improving, significant gaps remain in services for autistic people. As a result, the steering group plans to enhance support and training in educational settings, boost public awareness campaigns, and improve transitions from child to adult services. Efforts will also be made to expand support for employment, independent living, and life skills, aiming for a better future for autistic individuals in the Bailiwick.
