These illnesses followed complaints of foul-smelling and allegedly contaminated water supply in the sector. Health teams conducted door-to-door surveys, identifying seven residents with minor ailments and providing medical support.
The Greater Noida Authority stated that initial inspections did not reveal sewage contamination in the potable water. However, they did identify and repair a pipeline leakage and a faulty household connection. The authority has also collected water samples for laboratory testing, with reports still pending.
In response to the incident and residents' concerns about recurring contamination, the authority's CEO has directed the water department to conduct random water quality testing across the city. Similar checks will be implemented in industrial, commercial, and institutional areas to enhance monitoring and prevent future occurrences.
