A woman in Secunderabad, India, welcomed a healthy baby girl through IVF treatment at the government-run Gandhi Hospital, marking a significant success after previous failed attempts at private institutions. The 30-year-old mother, who had undergone multiple intrauterine insemination (IUI) procedures without success, found hope at Gandhi Hospital.
Her successful treatment underscores the growing capacity of government healthcare facilities in Telangana to offer advanced reproductive technologies. In late 2024, IVF services were inaugurated at Gandhi Hospital and the Modern Government Maternity Hospital (MGHM) Petlaburj.
Since their inception until January 2026, these centers collectively registered over 27,000 outpatient visits for infertility. Treatments included ovulation induction, IUI, and IVF, resulting in 190 positive pregnancy cases.
During this period, a total of 97 IVF stimulation cycles were performed, leading to 48 embryo transfers and 12 IVF-positive outcomes, demonstrating the effective scaling up of assisted reproductive interventions.
