- Premarital screening and antenatal testing are crucial for early diagnosis.
- New blood storage unit and ambulances launched to boost Khargone's healthcare.

Governor Mangubhai Patel stated that public awareness is as critical as medical treatment for eradicating sickle cell disease by 2047. Speaking at a sickle cell awareness camp in Khargone district's Jhirnya, he highlighted the necessity of premarital screening, antenatal testing, and early diagnosis.
Governor Patel advocated for establishing 'Sickle Cell Mitras' in every village, similar to TB Mitras, to assist patients and spread awareness. Digital health cards are now available for all identified sickle cell patients, with treatment accessible through both allopathic and Ayurvedic systems.
To bolster healthcare services in the tribal-dominated region, the governor inaugurated a blood storage unit and dispatched two ambulances and a hearse. The blood unit will initially stock 10-15 units to support emergencies, while the ambulances will improve response times in remote areas. The hearse will provide essential transport services in hilly terrains.
