Healthcare in eastern Uttar Pradesh has seen a substantial improvement with the inauguration of two key facilities in Gorakhpur. A 13-bed intensive care unit (ICU) at the Railway Hospital and a 15-bed private ward at AIIMS Gorakhpur were officially opened on Monday. These facilities were developed using MP Local Area Development (MPLAD) funds.
The new ICU at the Railway Hospital is outfitted with advanced life-support systems, enhancing emergency and critical care services. This development aims to provide seriously ill patients with immediate, advanced treatment options within the region, mitigating the necessity for external referrals.
The private ward at AIIMS Gorakhpur is designed to offer enhanced comfort alongside access to specialized medical care. While the ward will be operationalized gradually, its capacity is set to expand. Charges will align with the rates at AIIMS, New Delhi, ensuring accessible, quality healthcare for the local populace.
