The Global Preventive ONCO Summit (GPOS) 2026 is slated to be held in Thiruvananthapuram from January 16 to 18. This three-day continuing medical education program is expected to gather prominent oncologists, public health experts, researchers, and policymakers from India and abroad.
The summit's primary objective is to deliberate on effective strategies for reducing the global cancer burden. It will focus on strengthening preventive oncology by emphasizing early detection, community-based screening programs, and evidence-driven public health interventions.
Organized under the leadership of M.V. Pillai, the event aims to leverage the achievements of the 'Cancer Safe Kerala' initiative. Mohanan Kunnummal serves as the general convener, with Satheeshan Balasubramanian as the working chairperson, ensuring a collaborative approach to advancing cancer prevention efforts.
