Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital has enhanced its medical capabilities with the recent inauguration of advanced facilities. A key addition is the ₹20-crore 256-slice spectral CT scanner, noted as the first in any government hospital across north India. This state-of-the-art equipment is poised to significantly improve diagnostic accuracy for a range of critical illnesses, including cancers, cardiac issues, and neurological disorders.
Further bolstering the hospital's services, a new neuro cath lab has been established to support sophisticated treatments for conditions like stroke and brain aneurysms. Complementing these advancements, the existing neuro intensive care unit (ICU) has been comprehensively renovated and expanded into a modern 16-bed facility. This upgraded ICU is equipped with advanced monitoring systems and specialized critical care provisions.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta highlighted that these upgrades are part of a broader initiative to elevate the quality and accessibility of healthcare within public hospitals. The new facilities are designed to strengthen specialized and critical care services, ensuring advanced medical treatments are available to all segments of society. Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh emphasized that these improvements will expedite the management of neurological and diagnostic cases, thereby reducing wait times for patients requiring specialized attention.
