Summerhill Market Frozen Berries Recalled Over Norovirus
29 Sep
Summary
- Frozen raspberry products sold at Summerhill Market are recalled.
- Norovirus contamination risk prompted the food safety recall.
- Products were sold between July 29 and Sept. 15, 2026.
A recall has been issued for certain Summerhill Market-branded frozen raspberry products due to potential norovirus contamination. The affected items, which include a raspberry protein powder, frozen raspberries, a frozen berry mix, and a frozen smoothie mix, were sold at multiple Summerhill Market stores. These products were available for purchase between July 29 and September 15, 2026.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) initiated this recall as part of a larger investigation into a foodborne illness outbreak. This follows a recent recall of Alasko frozen raspberries sold nationwide, including in Ontario. The CFIA strongly advises consumers to avoid consuming the recalled products and to either throw them away or return them to the place of purchase.
As of September 29, 2026, there have been no reported illnesses linked to the Summerhill Market products. The CFIA noted that norovirus symptoms, such as diarrhea and vomiting, typically appear 24 to 48 hours after exposure and usually resolve within a few days.
