A significant cleft care initiative has been launched in Hyderabad, with global investment institution Lighthouse Canton partnering with Mission Smile. This collaboration aims to provide 100 free cleft lip and palate surgeries, with 50 specifically allocated for children and young adults in Hyderabad.
The program, being implemented through an outreach center at Unicorpus Word and Deed Hospital in Hayatnagar, began patient screening on February 9 and commenced surgeries from February 10. All beneficiaries selected for treatment will receive comprehensive care at no cost.
This support package is extensive, covering essential services such as hospital transportation, accommodation, meals, pre-surgical medical evaluations, the surgical procedure, necessary medicines, and crucial post-operative follow-up. Additional provisions like psychological counseling and nutritional guidance will also be extended where needed to ensure patients achieve full recovery and long-term well-being.
