An outbreak of salmonella, a common foodborne illness, affected 81 people in France between May and August. The source of the infection has been traced to a batch of pumpkin seeds processed by a food company located in southwestern France.

The implicated pumpkin seeds were sold by multiple retailers, including the Grand Frais chain. Products have been recalled as a precautionary measure.
