An Indian national living in Sharjah faced a prolonged health crisis spanning over two months after accidentally inhaling a fish bone. The incident, which occurred on July 1, led to persistent coughing, chest congestion, and breathing difficulties.
After visiting multiple hospitals, a CT scan revealed a nearly 2cm fish bone lodged deep in his right main bronchus. By August 26, when he was referred to Aster Hospital Mankhool, the bone had been causing irritation for more than eight weeks, leading to inflammation and tissue growth.
A specialized team successfully removed the bone on September 11 using bronchoscopy. Doctors carefully maneuvered the sharp object, ensuring no damage to the surrounding airway and vocal cords.
Following the procedure, the man experienced immediate relief and significant improvement in his breathing. He was discharged within hours and required no further treatment, marking a successful resolution to his serious condition.
