In a deeply distressing incident in Jharkhand's West Singhbhum district, a father was compelled to carry his newborn's body home in a cardboard box from a government hospital. This event has triggered an official inquiry into the hospital's conduct and the alleged lack of an ambulance service.
The father, Ramakrishna Hembrom, took an e-rickshaw to transport the infant's body to his village, Bangrasai, after the newborn died shortly after birth on March 7. He stated that hospital authorities did not inform them of any available ambulance or mortuary vehicle facilities following the tragedy.
