Farrukh Nagar Hospital: 5 Years Late, Still Unfinished
16 May
Summary
- Hospital is five years overdue since its 2021 inauguration.
- Incomplete infrastructure includes faulty roofs and no waste disposal.
- An inquiry was launched in April 2026 regarding construction delays.

Five years after its scheduled inauguration in 2021, the Farrukh Nagar sub-divisional civil hospital is still grappling with significant infrastructure delays. Residents and officials report that crucial facilities remain incomplete, forcing patients to travel long distances for emergency medical attention. A temporary operation theatre for caesarean deliveries, for instance, only became operational five months ago, as of May 2026.
Concerns include persistent roof leakages in multiple rooms, including the planned operation theatre, and incomplete electrical work. The hospital, designed for 50 beds, operates only from its ground and first floors with a severe doctor shortage, requiring at least seven doctors but currently having only two on duty. Essential services like a proper biomedical waste disposal unit, entry/exit gates, fencing, and laundry facilities are also missing.
In response to the persistent issues, the Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram initiated an inquiry into the construction delays in April 2026. A three-member committee is expected to submit a report soon, following surprise inspections. Meanwhile, the Public Works Department has prepared new estimates for maintenance and plans to float a fresh tender soon. The state's health minister has also demanded a written response from the PWD on the pending work status.
