Evening Outpatient Departments (OPDs) are significantly enhancing healthcare accessibility in Chandigarh for working individuals. The Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH) in Sector 16, since its evening OPD launch on February 24, has served approximately 20,485 patients, averaging nearly 100 visitors daily. These special clinics operate from 5 pm to 7 pm.
This initiative, directed by UT administrator Gulab Chand Kataria, also includes evening OPDs at Manimajra and Sector 22 civil hospitals. Manimajra has seen 3,393 patients since June, while Sector 22 has served about 30 patients since October 14. GMSH-16 offers consultations in medicine, surgery, paediatrics, gynaecology, and orthopaedics, with other hospitals providing services like ENT and psychiatry. Diagnostic facilities are being assessed for expansion based on demand and feasibility.
