eSushrut@Clinic: Affordable Digital Healthcare

The Union Health Ministry is set to introduce eSushrut@Clinic, a lightweight Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) developed by C-DAC. This initiative targets small outpatient clinics struggling with manual processes and expensive digital solutions, offering them a simple and affordable digital platform.

The Ministry noted a significant demand for a government-backed, cost-effective HMIS from various health facilities. eSushrut@Clinic is designed to streamline operations like patient registration and billing, making them more efficient and error-free for clinics.

Currently, over 800 health facilities are using eSushrut@Clinic. C-DAC is also implementing the broader eSushrut software in numerous AIIMS and state government hospitals. The National Health Authority (NHA) will collaborate with C-DAC, providing facilitation and financial backing under a new MoU.

This cloud-based HMIS will be available for government primary health centers, sub-centers, and private clinics. The estimated cost is ₹499 per month for five users, reduced to ₹299 per month with an NHA discount, and offered free for the first three months.

Simultaneously, the Ministry is revamping the Aarogya Setu application into Aarogya Setu 2.0. This new version will serve as a citizen-facing digital health application and personal health record, digitizing medical reports, providing a health dashboard, and integrating with wearable devices.

Aarogya Setu 2.0 will also feature the PM-JAY Wallet, facilitate discovery of nearby healthcare facilities, check real-time blood availability via e-RaktKosh, manage medication schedules, and help users find empanelled hospitals for cashless treatment.
