9 Feb
Summary
- ESIC and AIMS Mohali partner for expanded tertiary care.
- Beneficiaries gain access to nephrology, pediatric surgery, neonatology.
- Reduces long-distance referrals and improves patient outcomes.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) and AIMS Mohali to enhance access to affordable, high-quality healthcare services for insured employees and their dependents. This agreement allows ESI beneficiaries to access tertiary care, including advanced diagnostic facilities and specialist departments, at AIMS Mohali.
The partnership facilitates advanced treatment across super-specialty and specialty disciplines such as nephrology, pediatric surgery, and neonatology. This initiative is expected to alleviate the burden of long-distance referrals, ensuring prompt medical interventions and better patient outcomes.
Furthermore, the collaboration strengthens the Mohali civil hospital's role as AIMS Mohali's affiliated teaching and tertiary care hospital. Health officials anticipate this will not only benefit ESI beneficiaries but also contribute to capacity building within the state's public healthcare system through knowledge sharing and training.
