Ebola Surges in Congo: Cases Double in North Kivu

Despite these positive developments in some areas, Ghebreyesus cautioned that the epidemic continues to spread and cause fatalities. The sheer size of North Kivu complicates containment efforts, with officials describing it as "many outbreaks in many places." The rapid spread has led to concerns that the outbreak, already the fastest-growing on record, may continue to accelerate.
