14 Mar
Summary
- Smartphone app study shows men doubled ejaculation time.
- 22% of app users reported no longer experiencing PE.
- App provides therapeutic techniques for better control.

A groundbreaking study presented at the European Association of Urology Annual Congress (EAU26) in London highlights the effectiveness of the Melonga smartphone application in treating premature ejaculation (PE). The 12-week Climacs study, conducted in Germany, involved 80 men who used the app to manage arousal and improve ejaculation control through therapeutic techniques, cognitive behavioral therapy, and physical exercises.
Findings indicated that participants using the Melonga app doubled their ejaculation time, increasing it from an average of 61 seconds to 125 seconds post-penetration. Crucially, 22% of app users reported achieving complete resolution of PE symptoms by the study's end. This contrasts with a negligible increase in ejaculation time for a control group.
Researchers emphasized that the app provides a discreet, at-home self-help option for men who may feel shame about seeking professional medical advice. Unlike pharmacy therapies that often only address symptoms, Melonga targets the underlying psychological causes. The app is currently available in Ireland, Germany, Austria, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, and Belgium, offering a trusted, evidence-based resource.
