East Sussex Dermatology Services Suspended Amid Safety Fears
11 Apr
Summary
- Dermatology services in East Sussex have been suspended indefinitely.
- An independent report cited potential harm to a small number of patients.
- Patients needing care will be referred to alternative providers.

Community dermatology services provided within general practices in East Sussex have been suspended indefinitely. This action follows an independent report raising concerns about potential harm to a very small number of patients. NHS Surrey and Sussex Integrated Care Board (ICB) confirmed the decision, stating that affected patients will be contacted directly.
Individuals due to receive dermatology care from locally commissioned service (LCS) providers will be rerouted to alternative providers. The ICB emphasized that all other services offered by general practices across East Sussex continue as normal, and there are no concerns regarding broader care quality. Specialist hospital-based dermatology services are also unaffected.
