Top Doctor Sacked Amid Irreparable Trust Breakdown
20 Jan
Summary
- Senior doctor dismissed due to irreparable breakdown in trust.
- Dismissal followed an independent process reviewing trust issues.
- Concerns about bullying and harassment were previously raised.

Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has terminated the employment of its executive medical director, Dr. Timothy Noble, effective immediately. The trust cited an "irreparable" breakdown in the working relationship, confirmed by a thorough independent review.
This decision comes after the British Medical Association alleged Dr. Noble had raised concerns about bullying and harassment, claiming he was unlawfully excluded from his role since September 2024. The trust acknowledged Dr. Noble's contributions since 2006.
The Care Quality Commission's latest report highlighted whistleblowing concerns, with staff reporting feelings of disrespect and a lack of value. The trust is currently rated as requiring improvement, and a recruitment process for the director's role will commence soon.
