The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has suspended the food business license of Seven Seas Hospitality, located in Rohini, Delhi. This action was taken due to significant non-compliance with food safety regulations and violations discovered during an inspection.
The inspection found serious issues, including the presence of fungus, cockroaches, and house flies within the kitchen premises. Food inspectors noted a filthy environment with poor hygiene, sanitation, foul odors, and inadequate housekeeping. Deteriorated food materials, such as fungal growth on produce and degraded cooking oils, were also identified.
Further deficiencies included inadequate segregation of food types and poor pest control measures. The company achieved a mere 30% compliance score. In response, FSSAI officials destroyed 74 kg/litres of non-compliant food articles. The license suspension is effective immediately, with Seven Seas Hospitality directed to halt all food business operations.
