10 Dec
Summary
- Month-long campaign on Delhi Metro promotes women's health.
- Messages focus on safety, mental health, and disease awareness.
- PCPNDT Act compliance and TB awareness are key campaign goals.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, in collaboration with the World Health Organization, has initiated a month-long campaign across the Delhi Metro. This initiative, running through December and January, aims to significantly boost the health and well-being of women and girls by disseminating vital information.
The campaign, commencing at the Sultanpur Metro Station, will feature messages covering women's safety, mental health resources, digital inclusion, and awareness about the Pre-natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act. A strong emphasis is placed on discouraging gender determination tests, thereby combating female foeticide and addressing the declining sex ratio.
Furthermore, the campaign tackles tuberculosis awareness, supporting the TB Mukt Abhiyaan, especially given Delhi's high incidence rates. By leveraging the extensive reach of the Delhi Metro, the campaign seeks to empower millions of daily commuters with essential health knowledge, fostering healthier families and a stronger nation.
