Delhi's healthcare landscape is set to improve with several new government initiatives announced recently. Furthermore, the Mission ANMOL program is being expanded to include screening for 63 congenital, genetic, and metabolic disorders in newborns within 72 hours of birth. The government aims to increase the annual screening target from 150,000 to 250,000 newborns, with over 700 children already receiving timely treatment following early diagnoses this year.
Key infrastructure and technology upgrades were also unveiled. A new building for the State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (SOTTO) was inaugurated at GB Pant Hospital to bolster organ donation and transplant services. Complementing these efforts, a Nursing Home Management System portal was launched, facilitating online registration and renewal for private nursing homes, thereby enhancing efficiency and transparency in regulatory processes.
