The Delhi government is committed to enhancing homeopathy services and integrating AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy) systems with conventional medicine. This initiative was underscored during a scientific seminar held on April 10, 2026, to commemorate World Homoeopathy Day and the 271st birth anniversary of Samuel Hahnemann.
Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh stated that homeopathy offers significant potential for managing stress and chronic illnesses. Currently, Delhi boasts over 120 homeopathic dispensaries that provide free consultations and medicines, attending to nearly 19 lakh patients annually, reflecting increased public confidence in these treatments.
Further strengthening AYUSH infrastructure, the government plans to establish new polyclinics and address staff shortages. A key program, the Integrated AYUSH Stress Management Public Health Programme, aims to tackle psychosomatic disorders. Plans are also in motion to facilitate co-location of AYUSH and allopathic care, allowing patients access to multiple treatment options in one facility.
The event also saw the release of educational materials on homeopathy's role in musculoskeletal disorders and recognized esteemed practitioners. Delhi's government reiterates its focus on improving infrastructure, expanding accessibility, and fostering research within AYUSH systems.
