According to the latest hospital safety grades released by the Leapfrog Group, Delaware's hospitals are performing well, with New Castle County facilities leading the way. The Leapfrog Group, a nonprofit organization that aims to increase transparency in U.S. healthcare, graded seven hospitals in Delaware this fall.
ChristianaCare's hospitals in Stanton and Wilmington both earned "A" grades, excelling in metrics for preventing patient harm, critical care, and infection prevention. The Wilmington facility also stood out for its strong performance in harm prevention.
St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington received a "B" grade, with particularly strong ratings in patient rights and healthcare equity. It also performed well in critical care.
