British presenter Davina McCall has announced the completion of her preventative radiotherapy treatment, which followed breast cancer surgery in November. In an emotional video shared on Instagram, the 58-year-old revealed that finishing the radiotherapy was a deeply emotional experience, more so than she had expected.
McCall had surgery for early-stage breast cancer last November, during which a small lump was removed. The radiotherapy, consisting of five days of treatment in January, was described as an 'insurance policy' to prevent the cancer's return. This occurred 11 months after she had surgery for a benign brain tumour.
Responding to her update, The Royal Marsden hospital sent supportive messages, acknowledging her milestone. Friends and followers also offered words of encouragement. McCall expressed a positive outlook on life, stating she is happier than ever and grateful for each moment.
