28 Apr
Summary
- A daughter donated part of her liver to save her father's life.
- The father was diagnosed with returning liver cancer.
- The transplant surgery was a success, and the father is cancer-free.

A San Diego man, Tom Duncan, has been declared cancer-free following a life-saving liver transplant. The donor was none other than his daughter, Kelly, an oncology nurse.
Duncan was initially diagnosed with liver cancer after a routine check-up in October 2022 revealed 13 lesions. Despite undergoing various treatments, the cancer persisted, leading doctors to recommend a transplant.
His daughter, Kelly, who works at Scripps Cancer Clinic, stepped forward as a donor. She underwent surgery alongside her father at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York.
Kelly described the decision as easy, stating that the thought of a life without her father was more frightening than the surgery itself. The transplant was a complete success, and Tom expressed his deep gratitude to his daughter.
