A police cook in Daltonganj, identified as Raj Kishore Singh, aged 53, was bitten by a Krait snake on Saturday. The incident occurred while Singh was cleaning his room at the police line. He was subsequently admitted to the medicine ward of MMCH Daltonganj.
Physicians reported that Singh complained of choking and respiratory distress following the snakebite on his right hand's finger. He was administered 15 vials of polyvalent anti-snake serum, leading to a "stunning recovery."
Doctors described the bite as a "dry bite," explaining that venom can enter the body even without visible fang marks. The severity and course of treatment are determined by post-bite symptoms, which in Singh's case, led to a successful outcome with continued medical support and counseling to manage his panic.
