Summary
- Couple celebrated their first wedding anniversary together.
- Charlene was given a terminal diagnosis of three to nine months.
- The couple celebrated their anniversary at Ashgate Hospice.

Jordan and Charlene Heslop recently celebrated their first wedding anniversary, a milestone they feared they might not reach. Charlene, 38, received a devastating prognosis of three to nine months to live shortly after their wedding in July 2025, when her cervical cancer returned for a third time. The couple, who had been together for 12 years and engaged for eight, finally married on July 24, 2025. Despite the grim outlook, Charlene has now lived beyond her initial prognosis.
The supportive staff at Ashgate Hospice transformed a conservatory into a private dining area, complete with candles and balloons, enabling the couple to celebrate their anniversary. Charlene has been receiving care from Ashgate's community team for approximately two years and is currently in the inpatient unit for symptom management. This marks her fourth admission to the ward, underscoring her ongoing battle and the hospice's crucial role in her care.
