The couple had previously expressed shock upon learning of the conjoined twins during a routine ultrasound.
This heartbreaking event echoes a previous tragedy in Goiania on Christmas Eve, where another conjoined twin, Aruna Rodrigues, died seven months after a complex separation surgery from her sister Kiraz, who had died shortly after the operation. The same lead surgeon, Zacharias Calil, was involved in both cases, expressing deep sadness and solidarity with the grieving families.
