Supermarket giant Co-op has initiated a recall for its Irresistible Triple Cook Thick Cut Chunky Chips due to an undeclared allergen. The product was found to contain milk, a result of an accidental packaging error.
This mistake meant that Dauphinoise potatoes were incorrectly packed into the chip packaging. The Food Standards Agency announced the recall on Monday, February 9, highlighting the potential health risk to consumers with milk allergies or intolerances.
Consumers are strongly advised not to eat the affected chips. Co-op is offering full refunds or replacements for the product.
