Recall Alert: Male Enhancement Chocolate Contains Viagra Ingredient
31 Mar
Summary
- Chocolate bars recalled due to undeclared sildenafil and tadalafil.
- These ingredients can cause life-threatening blood pressure drops.
- Men using heart medication are most at risk from these products.

California-based Gear Isle has recalled two of its male enhancement chocolate products: Gold Lion Aphrodisiac Chocolate Sachet and ilum Sex Chocolate. These items were sold online throughout the United States. The recall was prompted by the discovery of undeclared sildenafil and tadalafil, active pharmaceutical ingredients found in erectile dysfunction medications like Viagra and Cialis, respectively.
The Food and Drug Administration announced that these undeclared ingredients pose a significant health risk. They may interact with nitrates, commonly found in prescription drugs for cardiac conditions. Such interactions can cause a sudden and severe drop in blood pressure, which could be fatal. Men who are prescribed nitrates for heart problems are identified as the most vulnerable population.
As of March 19, Gear Isle reported no adverse effects linked to the recalled products. The company is notifying customers via mail and advising them to discontinue use immediately and return the products for a full refund. This recall follows similar actions by other erotic sweets retailers. Pure Vitamins and Natural Supplements, LLC recalled Boner Bears Honey and other sexual enhancement products containing sildenafil and tadalafil in March. Lockout Supplements also recalled Boner Bears Chocolate Syrup last month due to undeclared sildenafil.
