Nationwide Chocolate Recall: Fatal Infection Risk
26 Jan
Summary
- Chocolate recall expanded due to potential Salmonella contamination.
- Salmonella can cause serious and fatal infections.
- Customers advised to discard product and seek refund/replacement.

Spring & Mulberry has expanded a voluntary recall of its Mint Leaf chocolate products to include additional flavors, citing a risk of Salmonella contamination. This recall affects products sold nationwide since September 15, 2025.
Salmonella can lead to severe, potentially fatal infections, especially in children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems. Symptoms include diarrhea, stomach cramps, and vomiting. The contamination was discovered when a contract manufacturer's routine testing revealed Salmonella in the finished product.
Customers who have bought the affected chocolates are strongly advised to discard them immediately and not consume them. To receive a refund or replacement, customers should email Spring & Mulberry with a photo of the lot code. No illnesses have been confirmed to date.
