- Multiple life-threatening complications were successfully managed.
- Child made a full recovery and was discharged healthy.

Doctors at Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Medical College and Hospital in Perambalur successfully performed a complex laparoscopic surgery on a three-year-old child. The patient presented with severe abdominal pain, diagnosed as perforated appendicitis with additional complications like an appendicular mass, intra-abdominal abscess, and a large faecolith.
Due to the child's young age and the critical nature of the condition, the surgical team opted for the challenging keyhole approach. Led by pediatric surgeon K. Karuppaiah, the emergency procedure on July 25 involved releasing intestinal adhesions, removing the appendix, and cleaning the abdominal cavity laparoscopically.
The child's recovery was smooth, with no post-operative complications. The patient was discharged in good health on the fifth day following the successful surgery, highlighting the hospital's expertise in pediatric complex cases.
