Early on August 16, Arya and her father experienced stomach aches and vomiting. By Sunday afternoon, her mother and two sisters also showed similar symptoms and sought medical attention. Although initially discharged, Arya's condition worsened, leading to her hospitalization and subsequent death on Monday afternoon.
Doctors at SMIMER Hospital have collected samples for testing, and the state health minister stated that legal action will be pursued if poisoning is confirmed. Health officials have since collected food samples from Hotel Sheetal, which has been sealed pending laboratory results. An intensive inspection drive for eateries is planned.
